Blue Eggs

            Blue Eggs (2019), Single-channel video, 15’ 30”

Blue Eggs (2019) is inspired by the story of someone experiencing fear and anxiety in the supposedly safe space of home while raising someone else's child.

The cuckoo that secretly lays their eggs in the nest of the other birds, and the pipit that defends them, mimic each other and change the patterns of their eggs in co-evolution effort. The work explores mutual mimicry and co-evolution based on the transformation of egg patterns in survival competition between cuckoos and host birds. The ongoing determination to maintain ever-changing appearances reflects a fluid identity.
